BOW DOWNAges ago, my photographer father offered me and my fellow siblings a quarter if we could catch a live dragon fly. We never collected, but much later I’m sitting by a pool and a dragonfly was buzzing around. With one hand I collected a stick and set my camera focus upon it. Low and behold the dragon fly landed on the stick and I got the shot! Lordy be.

HEAVEN AND HELLTravel east from Los Angeles on the 8 Freeway just before Yuma and you'll come to the tiny town of Felicity. There you'll find The History of the World in Granite Museum. Slabs of granite engraved with various subjects (history of flight, Leonardo and the Sistine Chapel ceiling, etc…) overlooked by a magnificent church built on the highest ground of the town - seen here reflected off the top of one of the granite slabs.
JUST AROUND THE BEND I do believe in optimism, when possible.
